Lets talk fats...

Time for a mini rant...

Fat should be our friend. It plays so many roles in our bodies... it’s in every cell membrane, it comes with all the fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, K, E), it is what all our sex hormones are made of (and our stress hormone cortisol), it protects our nerve endings, it provides vital insulation to our vital organs, it forms the bulk of our brain matter... and is a valuable source (and storage) of energy..

And yet we’ve been taught to fear fat.

Yes you need to eat ‘healthy fats’ and avoid the unhealthy ones... by healthy I mean your omega-3 rich fats from oily fish, chia, walnuts, flax seeds, nuts and seeds, lovely cold pressed olive oils, fat from pasture-raised (preferably organic) beef and lamb, and fats from avocado and coconut oil.

Avoid trans fats and highly processed vegetables oils.

Your brain, hormones and mental healthy will thank you!

It’s time to stop fearing fat.
